CVE-2024-8654MongoDB Server may access non-initialized region of memory leading to unexpected behaviour when zero arguments are called in internal aggregation stage. This issue affected MongoDB Server v6.0 version 6.0.3. | CVSS 5 | Mongodb | - | -
CVE-2024-8178The ctl_write_buffer and ctl_read_buffer functions allocated memory to be returned to userspace, without initializing it.
Malicious software running in a guest VM that exposes virtio_scsi can exploit the vulnerabilities to achieve code execution on the host in the bhyve userspace process, which typically runs as root. Note that bhyve runs in a Capsicum sandbox, so malicious code is constrained by the capabilities available to the bhyve process. A malicious iSCSI initiator could achieve remote code execution on the iSCSI target host. | CVSS 8.8 | Freebsd, et al | - | Patched

CVE-2024-50033In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
slip: make slhc_remember() more robust against malicious packets
syzbot found that slhc_remember() was missing checks against
malicious packets [1].

which is not good enough.
We need to make sure the packet includes the IPv4 and TCP header
that are supposed to be carried.
Add iph and th pointers to make the code more readable.

CVE-2024-45005In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: s390: fix validity interception issue when gisa is switched off
We might run into a SIE validity if gisa has been disabled either via using
kernel parameter "kvm.use_gisa=0" or by setting the related sysfs
attribute to N (echo N >/sys/module/kvm/parameters/use_gisa).
The validity is caused by an invalid value in the SIE control block's
gisa designation. That happens because we pass the uninitialized gisa
origin to virt_to_phys() before writing it to the gisa designation.
To fix this we return 0 in kvm_s390_get_gisa_desc() if the origin is 0.
kvm_s390_get_gisa_desc() is used to determine which gisa designation to
set in the SIE control block. A value of 0 in the gisa designation disables
gisa usage.
The issue surfaces in the host kernel with the following kernel message as
soon a new kvm guest start is attemted.
kvm: unhandled validity intercept 0x1011

CVE-2024-43845In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
udf: Fix bogus checksum computation in udf_rename()
Syzbot reports uninitialized memory access in udf_rename() when updating
checksum of '..' directory entry of a moved directory. This is indeed
true as we pass on-stack diriter.fi to the udf_update_tag() and because
that has only struct fileIdentDesc included in it and not the impUse or
name fields, the checksumming function is going to checksum random stack
contents beyond the end of the structure. This is actually harmless
because the following udf_fiiter_write_fi() will recompute the checksum
from on-disk buffers where everything is properly included. So all that
is needed is just removing the bogus calculation. | CVSS 3.3 | Linux | - | Patched

CVE-2024-42283In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: nexthop: Initialize all fields in dumped nexthops
struct nexthop_grp contains two reserved fields that are not initialized by
nla_put_nh_group(), and carry garbage. This can be observed e.g. with
strace (edited for clarity):
# ip nexthop add id 1 dev lo
# ip nexthop add id 101 group 1
# strace -e recvmsg ip nexthop get id 101
...
recvmsg(... [{nla_len=12, nla_type=NHA_GROUP},
[{id=1, weight=0, resvd1=0x69, resvd2=0x67}]] ...) = 52
The fields are reserved and therefore not currently used. But as they are, they
leak kernel memory, and the fact they are not just zero complicates repurposing
of the fields for new ends. Initialize the full structure. | CVSS 5.5 | Linux | - | Patched
CVE-2024-42272In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched: act_ct: take care of padding in struct zones_ht_key
Blamed commit increased lookup key size from 2 bytes to 16 bytes,
because zones_ht_key got a struct net pointer.
Make sure rhashtable_lookup() is not using the padding bytes

CVE-2024-42161In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Avoid uninitialized value in BPF_CORE_READ_BITFIELD
[Changes from V1:
- Use a default branch in the switch statement to initialize `val'.]
GCC warns that `val' may be used uninitialized in the
BPF_CRE_READ_BITFIELD macro, defined in bpf_core_read.h as:
[...]
unsigned long long val; \
[...] \
switch (__CORE_RELO(s, field, BYTE_SIZE)) { \
case 1: val = *(const unsigned char *)p; break; \
case 2: val = *(const unsigned short *)p; break; \
case 4: val = *(const unsigned int *)p; break; \
case 8: val = *(const unsigned long long *)p; break; \
} \
[...]
val; \
} \
This patch adds a default entry in the switch statement that sets
`val' to zero in order to avoid the warning, and random values to be
used in case __builtin_preserve_field_info returns unexpected values
for BPF_FIELD_BYTE_SIZE.
Tested in bpf-next master.

CVE-2024-42076In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: can: j1939: Initialize unused data in j1939_send_one()
syzbot reported kernel-infoleak in raw_recvmsg() [1]. j1939_send_one()
creates full frame including unused data, but it doesn't initialize
it. This causes the kernel-infoleak issue. Fix this by initializing
unused data.

It is due to the "void *key" (r2) passed to the helper. bpf allows uninit
stack memory access for bpf prog with the right privileges. This patch
uses kmsan_unpoison_memory() to mark the stack as initialized.
This should address different syzbot reports on the uninit "void *key"
argument during map_{lookup,delete}_elem. | CVSS 5.5 | Linux | - | Patched

CVE-2024-27431In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cpumap: Zero-initialise xdp_rxq_info struct before running XDP program
When running an XDP program that is attached to a cpumap entry, we don't
initialise the xdp_rxq_info data structure being used in the xdp_buff
that backs the XDP program invocation. Tobias noticed that this leads to
random values being returned as the xdp_md->rx_queue_index value for XDP
programs running in a cpumap.
This means we're basically returning the contents of the uninitialised
memory, which is bad. Fix this by zero-initialising the rxq data
structure before running the XDP program. | CVSS 5.5 | Linux | - | Patched
CVE-2024-27022In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

tmp->vm_ops->open -- Alloc new vma_lock outside i_mmap_rwsem!

i_mmap_unlock_write(mapping);
hugetlb_dup_vma_private() and hugetlb_vm_op_open() are called outside

CVE-2023-45663stb_image is a single file MIT licensed library for processing images. The stbi__getn function reads a specified number of bytes from context (typically a file) into the specified buffer. In case the file stream points to the end, it returns zero. There are two places where its return value is not checked: In the `stbi__hdr_load` function and in the `stbi__tga_load` function. The latter of the two is likely more exploitable as an attacker may also control the size of an uninitialized buffer. | CVSS 5.5 | Nothings | - | -

CVE-2023-36836A Use of an Uninitialized Resource vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a local, authenticated attacker with low privileges to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
On all Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved platforms, in a Multicast only Fast Reroute (MoFRR) scenario, the rpd process can crash when a a specific low privileged CLI command is executed. The rpd crash will impact all routing protocols until the process has automatically been restarted. As the operational state which makes this issue exploitable is outside the attackers control, this issue is considered difficult to exploit. Continued execution of this command will lead to a sustained DoS.

CVE-2023-27598OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, sending a malformed `Via` header to OpenSIPS triggers a segmentation fault when the function `calc_tag_suffix` is called. A specially crafted `Via` header, which is deemed correct by the parser, will pass uninitialized strings to the function `MD5StringArray` which leads to the crash. Abuse of this vulnerability leads to Denial of Service due to a crash. Since the uninitialized string points to memory location `0x0`, no further exploitation appears to be possible. No special network privileges are required to perform this attack, as long as the OpenSIPS configuration makes use of functions such as `sl_send_reply` or `sl_gen_totag` that trigger the vulnerable code. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4. | CVSS 7.5 | Opensips | - | Patched |
